Recommendations for everyone

  • Avoid malware
  • Never share NetID or other passwords even with your supervisor or IT support person: https://your.yale.edu/policies-procedures/policies/1607-information-technology-appropriate-use-policy
  • Never auto–forward your email to a non–Yale email account (gmail, yahoo, mobile device provider, etc) - see Policy 5100.20
  • Do not store PHI on any non-Yale computing device (home computer, smartphones, etc.): see Policy 5100.15
  • Ensure all devices you use to access, create, store, transmit or receiveYale data are configured to meet Yale’s Minimum Security Standards.
